Buriskey Supply & Services Co Ltd, the bunkering subsidiary of the Buriskey Group of Companies, has chartered a 1,800 dwt bunker tanker to support marine refuelling operations of fuel oil and marine gas oil (MGO) at Hong Kong port.

“The Hong Kong-flagged Golden Dragon 288 has been chartered by our company effective October 2,” Jeff Kwok, Managing Director of Buriskey Supply & Services Co Ltd, told Manifold Times.

“The new addition, which has a total carrying volume of approximately 1,650 metric tonnes, increases our bunkering capacity at Hong Kong port to approximately 20,000 metric tonnes per month.”

Hong Kong-based Buriskey was first formed by a few individuals from different sectors of the shipping supply chain in 2012, according to Kenny Luk, Representative of Buriskey Group.

The company first started as a freight forwarder for log/timber transportation and has since expanded its services to include cargo trading, chartering, shipping logistics and a supply & services arm to support the liner and dry bulk shipping sectors.

Today, Buriskey’s main liner service includes the maritime transportation of logs from Asia and West Africa, general and steel products from China and the Far East to South Pacific and Africa, and minerals from Africa to the Far East.

“Among our initial areas of focus was within the Far-Eastern regions where we provided stakeholders with an effective logistics solution to ship bulk commodities and semi-processed products to their destination in a safe and reliable manner,” shares Luk.

“The strategy is simple; where we make sure customers get exactly what they want.”
